Allocation of Frequencies for Radio Navigation

Radio navigation is a system for determining one’s position and consists of radio stations at fixed locations and receivers. For the receivers using the system of satellite radio navigation no decision on allocating radio frequencies is required.

The radio frequencies allocated to radio navigation applications in the General Act on Radio Frequency Utilisation Plan may be used for this purpose.

The Agency begins the procedure of allocating radio frequencies after receiving an application, then issues a decision on allocating radio frequencies (DARF), with which use is permitted on a particular frequency channel. Also specified are: modulation, fixed location, transmission direction (azimuth and elevation), as well as minimum requirements regarding the technical parameters.
